About the Artist

My name is Zach Smith, I'm an illustrator based in the Raleigh area with a passion for design and character work. I graduated in 2021 with my BFA in Illustration. Since then I have been pursuing freelance work with breweries around the country and other independent clients. This has given me the opportunity to create can labels, print and social media graphics, and imagery for merchandise and other products.

 

The visual identity of my art is very graphic in nature, often making use of bright, vibrant colors and solid black shading. I strive to create compositions that are engaging and dynamic, and I take pride in my attention to detail and thoughtfulness regarding my art. I love to experiment with how the edge of the canvas interacts with my subjects, as well as designing hand-drawn text for my pieces.

In my free time I pursue personal projects and play video games, which have been a major source of inspiration for me and my work. Designing characters or assets for video games is a goal of mine.
